Play-scripts and pantomimes for hire
I’m a keen playwright and I’ve written a number of plays for professional performance and I’m a strong advocate for quality plays for young people. Play and pantomime scripts are available for hire for both professional and amateur productions.
“Choice is the modern buzzword and it’s nice to be offered something equally entertaining, but completely different to panto. Joseph Ballard’s new adaptation of CS Lewis’s children’s classic fitted the bill. It provided magic, children, a secret world, a wicked witch, a good lion, talking woodland creatures, battles, heroism – and plenty of snow.”

“A show that held the attention of adults and children alike. As well as the dramatic scenes the show had some comic interludes – Morgana’s ‘talking heads’ was a clever sequence.”

Each play can make use of a good ensemble or not. Contact me for further information, synopsis and availability. Young peoples’ revisions for youth theatres and schools are also available.
GREAT FOR 2016
2016 marks the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death and there are festivities all round the world.
My new play, The Time Machine Adventure, is written for young people and children and it features an 11 year-old Will Shakespeare. He joins in the adventure which helps form ideas for his future works…
Cast: minimum 15, a comedy musical, approx 50 mins
“Beauty and the Beast proved to be a magical hit with adults and children alike. The classic fairytale was told with some clever and inventive updates and certainly hit the right notes… After two years of non-panto shows at Christmas, writer and producer Joseph Ballard scored a major success with his latest work.”
